CHRISTOPHER JR. - Columnist Date: 08/14/01 22:15 We've heard ... Auction action. A private shopping schmooze set for Thursday at the Saks Fifth Avenue on the Plaza to benefit the Emilie Rosebud Diabetic Research Foundation seems to be attracting the local legal eagle crowd. That's because one of the auction items involves a limo ride to the set of the TV series "The Practice." "It's a VIP thing, where you go on the set and you meet actor Michael Badalucco and all the actors," says co-organizer David Block. "A lot of local lawyers have been asking me about it." Speaking of legal technicalities, co-organizer Pam Moffitt says the event's silent auction will have a couple of new wrinkles to prevent those last minute $1 bidding ambushes. "We're not going to allow that," Moffitt says. "There will be minimum bids and minimum increases. And all bids will be cut off at a specific time, but we're not going to say when it is."
